Degree Course in Prehistory and Archaeological Science (PAS)
The academic degree course in Prehistory and Archaeological Science comprises all periods from the Paleolithic Age to the Early Middle Ages. Using scientific methods, the remains of earlier human cultures (for instance, stone, bone, and antler artifacts) retrieved during excavations are analysed and placed within the context of cultural, environmental, nutritional, and economic history.
Pre- and Protohistorical Archaeology at the University of Basel is a transfaculty programme, providing training in both scientific and historical-archaeological methods.
