Research Interests
- Water Supply Planning & Applied Hydrologic Research
- Integrated Surface-Subsurface Hydrologic Modelling
With five years of professional experience in water resources consulting in the semi-arid southern U.S., I’m passionate about water supply planning and water resource management and their role in sustaining social and economic welfare as well as aquatic and riparian ecosystems. With this in mind, my research interests are in applied hydrologic research methods to support water resource management efforts and water planning, particularly those related to surface water and groundwater supply protection and augmentation and water quality protection.
In my Ph.D., I will be working on the SlowWater Project and investigating the effectiveness of agricultural soil water retention methods in retaining soil water and reducing runoff and erosion. To do so, I will be using a combination of Integrated Surface and Subsurface Hydrologic (ISSH) modelling and field data analysis.
My other research interests are in surface water-groundwater exchange studies to support Enhanced Aquifer Recharge and software development in Python for hydrologic data analysis.
