Other Research Activities

(1) Analysis of organic tracers in ice cores.
In collaboration with the Prof Eric Wolff (Earth Sciences, Cambridge) and the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) we are developing new methods to explore the suitability of organic tracers in ice cores for paleo-climate studies.

(2) Selective analysis of plant surfaces.
In collaboration with Prof Beverly Glover (Plant Sciences, Cambridge) we are developing novel mass spectrometry-based technique to characterise the cuticle of petals.

(3) MEMS-based aerosol mass detection.
In collaboration with Prof Rod Jones (Chemistry, Cambridge) and Prof Aswin Seshia (Engineering, Cambridge) we are developing a small-scale microelectrome-chanical systems (MEMS) resonators based impactor.
