Research interests

My personal passion is the conservation of aquatic ecosystems and all things to do with GIS. During my studies I focused on the modelling of ecological niche of the Eurasian otter in Alsace and Tanganyikan cichlids, with the latter expanding to study their community structure as well.

Since leaving Academia I worked as a GIS specialist for Basel and Zürich maintaining their GIS databases, integrating new data into their online map services and developing new tools e.g. invasive neophyte app (not public). Further I worked as an ecologist in a small eco-consultancy where I participated in various conservation projects (ecological infrastructure, control of river revitalisation).
