Research interests

My research is concerned with the interplay between energy, agriculture, and the environment. It highlights how linkages between these systems can be mutually beneficial and/or detrimental (often both simultaneously). The aim is to provide ex-ante evaluations to support evidence-based policy designs. Examples of trade-offs, for example, include how phasing out fossil fuels subsidies would promote renewable energies and lower greenhouse gases but potentially lead to land-use expansion for solar/wind farms, thereby negatively impacting biodiversity.
