Research in the Swiss National Park

1. Establishment of a longterm monitoring of springs in the Swiss National Park and in the Biosfera Engiadina Val Müstair

In a longterm monitoring selected springs will be observed over several decades to be able to gather evidence of the effect of the Global Climate Change on untouched natural alpine springs and their fauna. To achieve this goal abiotic parameters such as the water temperature are measured and the meio- and macrofauna is analysed. A alps-wide coordinated programm in collaboration with other National Parks is planned.
