Research Interests

My research is concerned with the ecology of small streams and springs. We are interested in the function and isolation of alpine springs, their historical colonization and the current distribution of spring organisms. Furthermore we want to understand how climatic changes can affect spring ecosystems in the future. My focus lies also an the applied aspects of limnology such as ecotoxicology, renaturation and the assessment of water bodies.
