Physiogeography records, organizes and explains the natural environment of mankind. The characteristics and development of the near-surface area of the earth, which is critical for life, are of particular importance. The focal areas of teaching and research at Basel Physiogeography are therefore the measurement, mapping and modeling of the current and future process structure on the earth's surface and its significance for humans and the environment.
