Research Interest

My research and interests focus on developing new hydrological tracer techniques and integrated surface-subsurface hydrological models (ISSHM) for improving our understanding of surface water-groundwater interactions and ecohydrological processes. While I currently work intensively on the study of surface water-groundwater interactions in alluvial river valleys, I also conduct research in other environments, including ephemeral streams in arid regions, alpine headwater catchments, the boreal zone, or volcanic flow systems. I currently lead an international research project on microbial tracers in volcanic systems with colleagues from Japan and Switzerland and collaborate closely with research groups at Laval University on winter hydrological research projects. I’m also involved in the H2020 WATERAGRI project, for which I develop a new data assimilation platform for multivariate data assimilation with the ISSHM HydroGeoSphere.
