Research interests

I am a development economist with a strong interest in designing and evaluating sustainability strategies in the context of economic transitions. My PhD research focuses on the fourth energy transition toward renewable energy and examines its implications for human and environmental wellbeing. While this transition is essential for decarbonization, it is frequently accompanied by conflicts over land and water use, increased demand for metals and minerals, and growing pressures on ecosystems and vulnerable communities.

To address these challenges, my work evaluates energy-sector policies on both the production and consumption sides, intending to understand the multidimensional consequences of decarbonizing our economies. Using case studies, I adopt a mixed-methods approach that integrates Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modeling with qualitative research. Semi-structured interviews provide insights into stakeholders’ perceptions of the feasibility and desirability of alternative policy pathways in light of model outcomes, while a participatory stakeholder workshop enables scenario co-design with direct socio-political relevance.
