I am interested in aquatic macroinvertebrate communities, especially in the ecology of non-biting midges (Chironomidae). I investigate the spatial and temporal distribution of recent chironomid assemblages in lakes and the environmental factors that influencing them. Additionally, I study subfossil chironomid assemblages and use them to describe past environmental changes and perform quantitative temperature reconstructions.
