The current research focus of the "Applied and Environmental Geology" working group (AUG) includes urban geology and hydrogeology as well as the management of water, energy and underground resources. The AUG also develops application-oriented principles in geology, hydrogeology and geotechnics for Northwestern Switzerland and neighboring countries and conducts mandates in the field of independent expert reports on behalf of cantons and federal authorities.
